Countdown to Kindergarten is part of the Boston Educational Development Foundation, a not-for-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Countdown relies on support from a range of organizations and always welcomes new contributors.

Volunteer
- Countdown relies on the contributions of volunteers, for the following events:
- Kindergarten Days throughout August and September
- Annual Citywide Celebration at the Children’s Museum in September
- First Day of Kindergarten in September
- Gift bag stuffing in December
